With qualitative Content for success

"Content is King!"

This is the SEO mantra we follow day in and day out. Google relies on content to rank websites, and our job is to provide that content. So having a content strategy is a must. Because as we already know, consistency is key no matter what we do.

But we can't just create any kind of content and hope it will rank. We need to publish content that stands out and can potentially earn some links along the way. And that's exactly why we need a strategy for it.

This is how we could do this:

  • Grouping of the contents into topics
  • Layering content around different stages of your buyer personas (Awareness, Middle of the Funnel, Ready to Buy).
  • We focus on keywords that are easy to rank for and have traffic
  • Maintaining old content by revising it and keeping it up to date

Good content takes a lot of time, expertise and patience. If you are lacking one of these, then we are the right partner for you. Contact You us without obligation and clarify how an SEO strategy helps you.

Every SEO content strategy should have keyword research at its core. We need to know what people are searching for and provide that content.

We need to make sure that the keywords we write are:

  • Relevant for your business
  • Target customers at a specific buyer journey stage
  • To have enough traffic.
  •

There are a few tools that help us do this.

  • Ubersuggest - https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
  • Ahrefs - https://ahrefs.com/(paid)
  • SurferSEO Chrome extension https://surferseo.com/keyword-surfer-extension/

Tips and tricks:

  • We group the long tail keywords by main topic/keyword. During keyword research, we find many similar long-tail keywords that have the same main topic. We group them all together and write a long-tail content that covers each keyword. This way we avoid problems with cannibalization of content.
  • We choose low competition keywords when we are just starting out with a website or know that the existing website does not have any awareness yet.

We find out what keywords your competition is ranking for and outrank them by writing 10x better content. Contact you us without obligation.

The term "10x content" was first introduced by Moz a few years ago and refers to "content that is 10 times better than the best result currently found in search results for a given keyword phrase or topic."

Content creation not your forte? We are happy to help out, contact You us today.

The reason we use Google search is to find the solution to a problem we are currently facing. But sometimes the first page of results is populated with short articles that are not too helpful.

Imagine reading content that looks at a problem from all angles and solves it in ways you never thought of. And the level of detail is just insane. You then bookmark it and share it on your social networks or even link to it on your blog. That's the effect that 10x content can have, and that's why we need to write content like this.

Although word count is not a ranking factor, here are reasons why long-form content is important:

  • Long-form content therefore generates more backlinks than short posts,
  • longer texts position better in search results

How long should the content be? Statistically, the median is about 800-1500 words per article.

However, the main goal of the content is to solve a specific problem, whether it can do so in 700 or 3000 words. So the easier the content is to consume and understand, the better. Order You more documents how professional copywriting can help you too.

Content cannibalization = pejorative strategy of promoting the same keyword on multiple websites.

Example:

https://domain.com/new-york-wedding-venues https://domain.com/new-york-wedding-reception-venues Both links point to the same main keyword.

The truth is that both pages probably lack quality, so instead of ranking higher for the keyword, you won't rank at all (well, at least in the first 10 positions). Sure, search intent also plays an important role.

How to recognize content cannibalization

You can easily do this with Ahrefs. There are a video, which explains how to do it. Basically, we export the keywords your website ranks for, rearrange them alphabetically and identify URLs that rank for the same keyword.

How we avoid content cannibalization

  • Group long-tail keywords into topics and write long-form content that covers all keywords instead of writing a separate page for each one

Avoid falling into the "searcher intent" trap by not targeting the same main keywords twice for each searcher intent nuance

The way Google ranks a website is directly related. This means that as the image of the website and the brand, we need to make sure that the work we do on the website reflects our expertise and your authority in the field/niche, and that people see you and your website as trustworthy overall.

Let's take 2 websites for example:

A - a general, magazine-style blog that includes articles from various niches: Health, Food, DIY, Kids, etc.

B - the blog of a single person who happens to be, say, a nurse who works with children, and who only talks about child care.

If both websites publish an almost identical article, assuming that the websites are also identical in terms of link and on-page profile, then the article published on the nurse blog, will outperform the one published in the magazine, as the content of the nurse blog is more correlated than the other.

Another: If you are a photographer and suddenly decide to write about your hobby, knitting socks, on your photography website, that might not be the best idea, right?

So it's important to write content around the areas where you are an expert, considered an authority, and how you do that triggers the trust factor, both from a content and user experience perspective.

Content marketing is an ongoing process. It's critical to publish content, but it's also meaningful to revise the old content and make sure it's still relevant by updating it.

You might think that such a task is unproductive, but you are so wrong. Studies show that updated old content performs much better than new content. You can even double the traffic of an old page if you update it properly.

Here are some ideas we can use when updating old content:

  • Keep the information correct
  • Correct all broken links and add new links to relevant references
  • Correct grammatical errors
  • Add media to the post like more images or video embeds

The best part is that updating a post changes the publish/update date to today, so it will show up in search results with the new date (if your theme allows it) and therefore look like freshly published content in search results.

If writing is not your strong point, we are the right company for you. Fill the Contact form and you will be amazed what we can do for you.

Again, this is a no-brainer, but still such an underrated tactic. As we mentioned earlier, your blog categories act as content hubs. The problem with them is that they automatically show content from your blog posts. This could lead to cannibalization issues as the same content appears multiple times on the site.

To fix this problem and help these sites actually have a chance to rank well, they need unique content.

The way we do this in WordPress is we go to each category and add a unique description. This is the basic thing that we do.

We check if the content matches the search intent of the target keyword of your article. This is crucial because if your page does not meet the user intent, it will not rank.

There are 3 types of search intentions:

  • informational(ex: "how to knit socks")
  • transactional(e.g.: "handmade socks amazon")
  • commercial(ex: "mailchimp review")
  • navigational(ex: "starbucks near me")

So my advice to you would be that before you write any content for a keyword you've researched, check the search results to see what Google is showing for that keyword and match your content with the same user intent.

A clear case, isn't it? Nevertheless, many people accidentally end up with 2 H1s on the same page.

Why is this important? Well, heading 1 can help search engines understand what the page is about.

As a good practice, we should match the H1 with the meta title set for the page.
